Doc’s passion for baking was inspired by his grandmother, Joyce Darwood, lovingly known as “Grams.” She passed down her signature Southern dessert recipes, which Doc then refined and built upon to create the very foundation of Doc’s Cake Shop. From a young age, Grams taught Doc the joy and skill of baking, and thus started a tradition that would eventually shape a beloved neighborhood staple.
